I've only really had but one career pursuit... photography. I have been fascinated by the power that is inherent in a well crafted idea executed through the medium of photography. I believe that in an increasingly complicated world, the most effective photographs are generally without exception, the most simple to consume. My goal is to communicate not complicate.
My portraits are not about me or my style, but about my subjects and the unique qualities and conditions that define their lives at the time they are photographed.
In the crowded and complex visual message world in which we find ourselves, it seems essential that our message be quickly and easily digested even when it addresses complexities. A great photograph can be a pleasantry to the viewer as well as a catalyst and call to action.
Selecting a photographer should be about selecting the way that he or she sees, not about how one would like for them to see...ideally, a shared understanding and passion for the assignment and thusly, a shared vision.
